Abstract
16-year follow-up results of surgery for retroperitoneal neurofibroma with locally aggressive growth are presented. Eradication of the primary tumor required right nephrectomy, suprarenal vena cava resection and synthetic graft replacement. The left renal vein was anastomosed to the graft end-to-side. Two and a half years later vena cava graft thrombosis developed into single left kidney venous hypertension. During reoperation the left renal vein was anastomosed with the inferior mesenteric vein. Good long-term results are achieved, with no signs of relapse and normal renal function.References
