Abstract

In 2015 we are celebrating the 107th birthday of the world-renowned American cardiac surgeon Michael DeBakey. During his long clinical and scientific career Michael DeBakey made an outstanding contribution to modern medicine; thanks to his inventions tens of thousands of peoples lives were saved. His disciples and many of his colleagues believe that Michael DeBakey was the most authoritative expert in the field of cardiovascular surgery. This great surgeon died at the age of 99, two months prior to his 100 year-old anniversary.
